Find out more about this fascinating aspect of Poole’s heritage.
There is a long tradition of pottery and ceramics being manufactured in Poole due to the quality of the local clay.
This talk looks at the tiles and other ceramic features still to be seen in Poole’s buildings from the Victorian era to the 1990’s. Many can be traced to the local firms of Carter and Co or South Western Pottery.
The talk takes around an hour but can be adapted. I also bring examples of tiles made in Poole to enhance the experience. Price on application.
